Is it good to lie to our children?

0

Is it good to lie to our children? Santa Claus is a society-wide conspiracy to lie to children.

The alternative to the Santa myth would be, and is, actually, a good thing. Imagine, instead of playing the game, taking the opportunity to teach children that people do all kinds of irrational things, for all kinds of reasons.

Imagine (as many do) telling your children that Santa Claus is a fun, child fantasy that is based on a belief in days past, that there really was a … bla blah blaaa, and how civilizations (history) shows us how common this is. And teach them that many go along with it as if it were true, so it’s ok to go along with it. …and to be careful because some people think it’s important to fool children into this belief.  It goes along with how some like to fool themselves into believing in their wishes, like that there is a loving, caring, supernatural being watching out for them. It’s understandable to want this, but it’s not true. It’s a belief based on wishes.

I think kids can handle the truth.
