Imagine that things are not as they seem,
Things that seem as they are imagined.
Imagine they lied or perhaps were misled,
then passed it to you how to them it was fed.
Imagine anew that you have what it takes
to learn where they erred because they were scared.
Imagine anew that you will find relief
to learn there is no reason to hold to belief.
For the cost of belief we erred but felt sure
in the comfort of myths our ignorance endured
Imagine anew re-learning a must
to learn where they erred, yourself you can trust.
Imagine it possible to grasp what is there,
knowing much but not all you’re able to bear.
Imagine your growth ever nearer to truth,
that never arrives but still satisfies.
Imagine faith as a vice, a relief from care,
not valued over admitting not knowing what’s there.
Imagine loyalty as a tool undeserved
by the people who seek it to preserve
a condition unworthy of our verve.
Imagine anew how things are as they seem,
and how you learned how trust is earned.
Imagine that.
